How long does it take to create a story?
Most books are ready in about half an hour, and some illustration options take a while longer. Every page is written, illustrated, and quality-checked from scratch, and you don't have to wait around: we email you the moment your book is ready to read.
What happens to the photo I upload?
Your photo is stored privately while you prepare the book and we create its character portrait. Unpurchased drafts expire after 48 hours; open payments and active generation retain their required inputs. We delete the original when it is no longer needed and keep the finished illustration for future books.
Is my child's photo used to train AI?
No. Your photo is used only to create your child's illustrated character, and neither your photos nor your finished books are used to train AI models, by us or by the AI providers we work with. Your family's story stays your family's story.
What if something goes wrong during generation?
If we cannot finish your paid book, including its new character portraits, the full payment is automatically refunded to your original payment method. Temporary failures receive a limited number of automatic retries.
What if I don't like one of the illustrations?
Every illustration is quality-checked as the book is made. Your book includes 2 free image regenerations, shared across its pages and cover. Further book-image regenerations cost $0.95 each. Portrait adjustments cost $0.50 each. Paid changes use their own checkout. Story text can be edited freely.
What does a story really cost?
Pay directly for each book: from $7.20 for 16 pages to $9.35 for 24 pages. The price includes any new portraits selected for that book. Up to 6 characters can star in one story. App prices are in USD. Stripe shows applicable tax and any local-currency option before you pay. There is no subscription.
Is there a free trial?
You can prepare your characters and story before paying. Personalized portraits and books are generated after payment. To help you decide, the Examples page has complete real books you can read cover to cover. If paid generation fails, the full payment is automatically refunded to the original payment method.
